A new look, in light and dark

The whole app has been redesigned, with a proper home page and light and dark mode that follows your device. Issues can carry pictures, videos and files, and the MCP server is clearer for AI assistants.

Why we built this

The app had grown one screen at a time, and it looked like it. It only came in dark. A tester couldn't attach the screenshot or the recording that shows a bug, and an issue raised with the wrong words was stuck with them. Meanwhile more people were reaching qarunbook through an AI assistant, and the MCP server needed to describe itself plainly to them.

What changed

The whole app was redesigned: a sidebar for the workspace and its apps, the screen in a panel beside it, figures at the top of the check board, and placeholders shaped like the screen that's coming instead of the word Loading. It's black, white and greys, with colour kept for pass, fail, retest and danger. Light and dark mode follow your device unless you pick one.

Issues can carry pictures, videos and files, attached while raising them or afterwards. Anyone who can raise an issue can reword it; the original reporter stays on it, and every earlier wording is kept with who wrote it.

Each MCP tool now has a title and says plainly whether it changes anything. Two new guides explain setting qarunbook up as a QA MCP server and as a skill in Claude Code.

Why it matters

A screen recording shows a developer what a sentence can't, and being able to correct an issue keeps the board saying what is actually wrong.

We also published a free tool that reads a test plan and says what it forgot, and comparison pages built from each vendor's own pricing page, dated, which say where another tool is the better choice.

Who it's for

Testers on any screen, in light or dark, and anyone connecting Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to their runbook.

How to try it

Open a check and raise an issue to attach a file. The theme switch is in the sidebar. Setting up your AI assistant is in the guides.
